Exceptional Care for Children will honor Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware President, Nicholas Moriello, with the 2022 Founders Award for their contributions.

Newark, Delaware, August, 15, 2022 – Nonprofit Exceptional Care for Children (ECC) has brought back their annual fall gala, Reach for the Stars, to be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 6pm, located at ECC Campus in Newark, Delaware. The Reach for the Stars Gala offers a night of fine dining, a large silent auction,  special guest appearances from the ECC residents, and music from Dance Candy. The event will be hosted by WJBR’s Mike Rossi.

The proceeds from this year’s gala will be used to construct a Bridge Unit to aid and expand ECC’s provided services. This Bridge Unit will be the first of its kind in Delaware and will include life-sustaining technology, specialty clinics, interactive living rooms, art and music rooms, family time, and outdoor exploration— all designed to provide youth with the support they need not only to survive but to thrive in an environment designed for their age group.

“For years, Exceptional Care for Children’s gala has been our way of celebrating and uplifting our community, of saying ‘thank you’ to all our supporters and community members, as well as ensuring our work in skilled nursing, education and therapy for medically fragile Delawareans can thrive and grow,” says John L. White, LNHA, Executive Director
